Afridi, Malik take Sultans to winning stand in low-scoring match

DUBAI: The Sultans' pace attack have put a toll on the Islamabad United (ISB) as opener Rizwan and Cameroon were sent packing before the end of the power play in the first fixture at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Multan Sultans (MUL) won the toss and have elected to bowl first against Islamabad(ISB)
After depositing a victory in their opening match of the fourth edition of PSL, defending champions Islamabad United (ISB) are facing Multan Sultans (MUL).
Islamabad United, the champions of 2016 and 2018, came from behind to beat a new-look Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets on Thursday, chasing down 172 with four balls remaining.
The Mohammad Sami-led side have been boosted by the return to form of bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf, who was awarded Player of the Match for his 2 wickets for 24 and an 11-ball 23 not out that helped Islamabad United in the chase. Asif Ali is also back in form, with 36 not out from 19 balls against Lahore Qalandars, while Waqas Maqsood also caught the eye with his economical one for 25 run at an economy of 6.25.
On the other hand, Multan Sultan will come into the game looking for their 1st  victory of the tournament, having lost their opening match to Karachi Kings (KHI) by 7 runs.
Sultans will be looking for inspiration in captain Shoaib Malik who scored a quick 24-ball 50 but could not save his team from defeat,
Bowler Chris Green will once again be on the radar after picking up 3 for 32 the best of all the Multan Sultan bowlers on Friday night. However, they will be looking for much-improved bowling display with the likes of Junaid and M.Ilyas who both went for 10 (ten) and 11 runs per over respectively.
In the 2nd match of the day, Lahore Qalandars (LHR) will take on Karachi Kings.
The match between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans will start at 4:30pm Pakistan Standard Time.
